Odds of escaping poverty in India, U.S. same: WB – Ques. “Probability of a poor person moving out of poverty in India in 2014 was as good as that in the U.S. One of the main drivers of upward mobility is the increase in number of non-farm jobs in rural India”, Discuss.

India to beat China in growth in 2016: IMF – Ques. “The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected India to grow at 6.5 per cent in 2016, overtaking China whose growth was forecast to slow down to 6.3 per cent.” Critically analyze the major challenges for boosting India’s economy.

“Jobs can offset the disadvantages of caste”  – Ques. “A lot of the tax revenue goes into subsidies, but major issue is that in the name of inequality or poverty alleviation, some subsidies are regressive by design.
